The Ukrainian industrial company INTERPIPE has mastered the production of tubing with Teflon sealing rings (PTFE), which allowed it to strengthen its competitive position in the oil and gas market. This is reported by the company's press service.

The special rings were purchased in the USA and integrated into Interpipe's production process. The threading was carried out at the Interpipe Niko TUBE site. To implement the project, the company implemented a special technology, in particular, it used a tool for cutting grooves in rings.

As the company explains, such rings are used to increase the resistance of pipes to external pressure and as an additional seal for internal pressure. They extend the service life of products and are provided by API standards for certain types of connections.

Liberty Steel's plants in Luxembourg (Dudelange) and Belgium (Liege) appear to be nearing final closure. More than two years after the shutdown, there were still no buyers for these assets. Informed sources cite EU import quotas as the main reason for the curtailment of negotiations, which curb the interest of potential investors from outside the bloc. This is reported by Kallanish.

In May, the sale of the Dudelange plant was officially suspended after Turkey's Tosyali declined to participate. Although another potential buyer recently visited the company, sources indicate that the company is also not from the EU, which means that it is subject to import restrictions on hot–rolled coils.

The unions report that the Luxembourg government has tried to negotiate with European institutions to resolve the situation, but to no avail. In July, Luxembourg even held a special career fair for former employees of the plant.

Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal Belgium has confirmed the purchase of part of Liberty Steel's former asset in Liege, in particular the Galva 5 hot-dip galvanizing line in Flemalle. The deal also includes CEPI repair shops and a water treatment plant.

After a nine-month technical upgrade, ArcelorMittal plans to restart production in 2026. Galva 5 manufactures galvanized products for the automotive and construction industries.

The Chinese Metallurgical Association (CISA) is confident that 80% of the country's steel production capacity will be upgraded with ultra-low emissions by the end of 2025, according to Mysteel Global.

This goal was originally set in a related official document published in 2019, which launched China's campaign to promote ultra-low emissions in the steel industry. The standards for metrocombinations provide for the limitation of pollutant emissions throughout the entire production process, including requirements for raw materials and vehicles.

According to CISA, as of April 20 of this year, about 591 million tons of steelmaking capacity owned by 141 Chinese steel producers have reached full ultra-low emissions, and 169 million tons of capacity owned by 47 other manufacturers have reached partial levels.

In April of this year, the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and the Environment of China for the first time published technical specifications for ultra-low emission exhaust gas engineering of the sintering process in ferrous metallurgy, in March, the steel industry, as well as aluminum and cement production sectors were officially included in the national carbon emissions trading market. Currently, the latter covers more than 500 key subjects of emissions in metallurgy.

The problem of turning the handwheel in the valve arises when they are opened less than once a year and are deprived of attention from the service personnel. The reason lies in the scale on the sealing surfaces.

If necessary, grind the rubbing surfaces.
