At the ball rolling mill of the Oskol electrometallurgical plant named after A.A. Ugarov (part of the Metalloinvest company) mastered the production of a new type of product - balls with a diameter of 90 mm of the second and third groups of hardness.
Balls of this diameter are intended for mills where rock mass is ground by abrasion ... This makes it possible to obtain finely ground raw materials for the production of higher quality iron ore concentrate.
The new products will be supplied to Metalloinvest's own plants (Lebedinsky and Mikhailovsky GOKs), as well as to third-party consumers.
The ball rolling mill (SHPS) was launched at OEMK in November 2020. It also produces balls with a diameter of 100 and 120 mm, weighing 4.6 and 8 kg and hardness groups 2 - 3 in accordance with GOST 7524-2015.
For the production of balls with a diameter of 90 mm, documentation on the calibration and production technology of the ball was developed, the purchase and delivery of work roll tires and guide fittings was carried out.
The annual productivity of the ShPS is about 43 thousand tons of rolled steel grinding balls. Metalloinvest's investments in the project amounted to about 1 billion rubles.
