To make a choice, you need to answer the following questions:
1. What types of vehicles will be weighed? The model is important, the total center length of vehicles.

For the entry and exit of the car on the scales, you need a straight section of the track with a length at least equal to the length of the weighed vehicle. For truck scales on a trestle foundation, this distance increases by the length of the trestle ramps. Also, based on the chosen place, it is worth choosing the type of foundation and installation of scales. For soils with poor bearing capacity, it is better to opt for a deep foundation. But such a foundation will require a drainage and wastewater disposal system, which is not necessary for overpass structures. If you plan to place the scales on a concrete surface, but there will be no need for a foundation at all, since the entire structure of the scales will be attached to the surface with anchors and this coating, in fact, will serve as a foundation. In this case, metal ramps are usually used to drive on the scales.
4. Where the weighing room will be located and where the weight indicator will be located.
The type of equipment used and the cost of cable laying will depend on this. Digital electronics allows you to place the weight terminal at a distance of more than 1 km from the scales, for analog - this distance is much less. In addition, analog electronics are sensitive to electromagnetic fields, so it is not recommended to run wires from an analog device under power lines.
5. Do you plan to keep records of shipped products in the old fashioned way at your enterprise? "in a notebook", or want to get a full-fledged accounting system with the possibility of additional control and automation of the weighing process.
If paperwork is no longer for you, then you should start by connecting software for truck scales, on the basis of which you can further complicate the automation system (if you want). When buying new car scales, many manufacturers offer software connection for free, so in any case you do not lose anything, but you will appreciate the change in the qualitative change in accounting in just the first few days.
6. If you immediately decided to purchase autoscales with automation elements, then which ones? What should this system be able to do?
Having decided on the components of an automated system based on truck scales "on the shore", it will be cheaper and easier for you to install all the equipment without the need to pull additional power lines, installing some elements after. Just talk about all the necessary functionality with the manager at the stage of buying the scales, so that the system package was initially selected in the most correct way.
