China sharply increased steel production in September year-on-year
In the first nine months of 2022, the 64 countries reporting data to the World Steel Association (WSA) produced 1,405.2 million tonnes of steel in steel.
Decrease in production figures compared to the same period last year was 4.3%.
China remains the leader in the metallurgical rating, having smelted 780.83 million tons, which is 3.40% lower than the same period last year (APPG). The share of China in world steel production is 55.6%.
In September, steel production in the world amounted to 151.7 million tons (in August -150.6 million tons), an increase in volumes in the annual ratio - 3, 7%. The share of Chinese steelmakers amounted to 87 million tons, up 17.6% year-on-year.
India produced 9.9 million tons of steel, up 1.8% compared to September 2021. Japan smelted 7.1 million tons of steel, South Korea - 4.6 million tons, a year-on-year decrease - 12.3% and 15.4%, respectively.
Metallurgists of the CIS and Ukraine produced in September 6, 7 million tons of steel - down 21.9% year-on-year.
