China's car exports top 2 million units in 2021
In 2021, China's car exports doubled compared to 2020, reaching almost 2.02 million units, according to the latest data from the China Association of the Automotive Industry (CAAM).
According to its data, last year the country's total car exports crossed the 2 million mark for the first time.
At the same time, the volume of exports of vehicles powered by new energy sources reached 310 thousand units, an increase of 4 times, the data showed.
Last year, the export of passenger cars and commercial vehicles increased by 2.1 times and by 70.7% in annual terms to 1.61 million units and 402 thousand units, respectively.
In particular, in December 2021, Chinese automakers exported 223,000 vehicles, up 11.4% from November 2021 and up 54% year-on-year, CAAM data showed.
