117 fighters and reconnaissance aircraft are being scrapped in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan intends to scrap 117 fighters and reconnaissance aircraft that are unfit for use. The press service of the country's Ministry of Construction and Industry reported this on Tuesday.
MiG-23UB, MiG-27, MiG-29, MiG-31, Su-24MR aircraft in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development Kazakhstan are included in the list of unused property and are subject to sale at electronic auctions. According to the terms of the tender, fighter aircraft must be disposed of by cutting on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As the ministry explained, the aircraft, due to their technical condition and the end of their service life, are not suitable for further use for their intended purpose. They will be disposed of to prevent them from falling into the hands of third parties.
