Malaysia imposed anti-dumping duties on steel imports from China and 4 other countries

Malaysia imposed anti-dumping duties on imports of cold-rolled coils non-alloy steel from China, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam for a period of five years, said Thursday the Ministry of international trade and industry.

the Highest duty is 26.39% was imposed on all Japanese manufacturers, while the duty of 26.38% was set for most Chinese manufacturers. South Korean exporter will be taxed to 3.84%, with the exception of products of POSCO, which is subject to a zero duty. Different responsibilities have been established for certain firms in China and Vietnam.

Fee, including x/K rolls of a width exceeding 1300 mm, came after the Ministry has completed an anti-dumping investigation at the request of the enterprises of the domestic industry.

the Applicants complained that the material "is imported into Malaysia at a price below the sales price in their respective home markets," reads the Ministry statement.

Duties came into force on Wednesday and will be in effect until December 24, 2024.
