India will make a third attempt to land on the moon
India will make another attempt to land on the moon, said at a press conference on Wednesday, Chairman of the Indian space research organization (ISRO) K. Sivan.
According to Sivan, the third lunar mission called "Chandrayaan-3", which in Sanskrit means "moon machine" will include a new power module, moon ship and lunahod.
if successful, India will become the fourth country, made a soft landing on the moon after the United States, the former Soviet Union and China.
First lunar mission of India was held in 2008. She failed lunar probe crashed at a controlled landing. The second mission in September 2019 was over almost before it began – the space Agency of India has lost touch with the "Chandrayaan-2" immediately after its release into orbit of the moon.
NASA said the lander mission "Chandrayaan-2" made a "hard landing" on the moon, but his whereabouts are still unknown.
Prime Minister of India Narendra modi is a staunch supporter of the continuation of the attempts of the lunar mission. Attempted landing on the moon became part of the biggest space ambitions of India. The country wants to become a major space player and send Indian astronauts into space rocket on its own by 2022.
Over the last decade, India has made several other steps towards achieving its space ambitions. In 2014, India became the first Asian country to reach Mars, when she led the Mangalan probe into orbit around the red planet. In 2017, India has launched a record 104 of the satellite in one mission. And last year, modi announced that India had successfully shot down one of their own satellites, after the testing of ASAT weapons, becoming one of four countries that have reached such a level of development of space technologies.
