Explosion at China's Fangda steel plant killed one person
An explosion at a steel mill owned by Fangda Special Steel Technology Co Ltd killed one person on Wednesday and injured nine others, the company said on its website.
Blast furnace # 2 exploded on Wednesday around 4:30 pm, a company spokesman confirmed.
Operations at the facility located in Nanchang, the capital of the southern Chinese province of Jiangxi, have been suspended.
Last year the company produced 4.2 million tons of metal products.
China produced 928 million tonnes of steel in 2018.
