Erbol Nurgaliyev visited the metallurgical plant of JSC "ArcelorMittal Temirtau"
Representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed by Chairman of the Labor, Social Protection and Migration Committee Erbol Nurgaliyev, visited industrial enterprises of the Karaganda region, including the metallurgical plant of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC.
Erbol Nurgaliyev visited production sites to get acquainted with the working conditions of the company's employees. At the foundry yard of blast furnace No. 3 metallurgists showed the process of iron production. The heads of the Combine and Blast Furnace Shop of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC spoke about the latest upgrades that made the physical labor of the miners easier and significantly reduced the number of emissions.
Hazardous gases are used in production, such as blast furnace, coke oven, converter and propane-butane, therefore, the enterprise widely uses special devices that promptly respond to increased gas concentration and signal it.
The main topic of the meeting was zero industrial injuries. According to Andrey Markin, Director for Labor Protection and Industrial Safety of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC, for 8 months of 2020, there was a decrease in injuries in the Steel and Coal Departments compared to the previous year. Since the beginning of 2020, there have been no fatal accidents in both departments.
Representatives of the Ministry also visited the hot-dip galvanizing and aluminizing department, namely the galvanizing department.
Erbol Nurgaliyev visited the metallurgical plant for the first time and was impressed by the visit.
