Lenovo remains the global leader in personal computer shipments in 2020
Global personal computer (PC) giant Lenovo maintains leadership in the global PC market in 2020. This is evidenced by the data of the corporation on global marketing research.
Over the past year, Lenovo PC shipments reached 72.7 million units, up 12% from 2019, according to a report from the International Data Corporation.
In 2020, the share of Lenovo products in the global PC market was 24%, slightly decreasing against the figure for 2019, which was 24.2%.
HP and Dell ranked second and third in terms of global PC shipments in 2020.
The report notes that the significant growth in PC shipments to the global market in 2020 is driven mainly by the popularization of remote work and distance education, as well as the recovery in consumer demand.
The COVID-19 pandemic not only pushed consumer demand for PCs, but also opened up new opportunities to expand the market for these products, the report said.
