Three workers were killed in an accident at the Taiwanese Formosa steel mill in Ha Tinh, Vietnam. City officials said gas poisoning was a possible cause of death. They added that as a result of the accident, two workers died on the spot, and one died in the hospital.
The Ha Tin authorities do not disclose the identities of the three victims so as not to hinder the investigation.
Taiwan-based Formosa made headlines in 2016 for causing one of the largest environmental disasters in Vietnam's history, contaminating 200 kilometers (125 mi) of coastline in Ha Tinh and three surrounding provinces.
