China's external financial net assets close to USD 2 trillion
As of the end of June 2021, China's external financial assets amounted to USD 9.0278 trillion, and external financial liabilities amounted to USD 7.0418 trillion. Thus, external financial net assets reached $ 1.986 trillion, according to data published by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange Control of the People's Republic of China.
According to statistics, the country's reserve assets reached USD 3.3459 trillion, accounting for approximately 37% of the total external financial assets, and direct investment assets - USD 2.462 trillion, which is approximately 27% of the total.
In the structure of the country's external financial liabilities, the share of foreign direct investment in the Chinese economy reached USD 3.365 trillion, or about 48%, and the share of investments in the country's securities - USD 2.109 trillion, amounting to about 30%.
