Christian Dior apologizes to China for map error
The French luxury brand has been criticized on the Chinese site Weibo for reportedly using a map of China without the Taiwan Peninsula in its presentation.
Christian Dior apologized for a "presentation error" made by one of its employees.
Fashion brands including Versace, Givenchy and Coach have recently found themselves in a similar situation.
"The company apologizes for the incident on October 16, 2019, when a member of the Dior HR team ... was making a presentation, when (an employee) made a mistake in the submission and gave an incorrect explanation," the company said on its official account on Weibo.
Christian Dior said it has conducted a "thorough investigation", adding that it will "seriously address" the issue.
"Dior has always respected and supported the principle of one China, strictly upholding the rights and full sovereignty of China, cherishing the feelings of Chinese citizens," the company added.
