Israel resumes flights with all countries
Israel will allow flights from all countries following a cabinet decision to allow Israelis to return to the country ahead of national elections scheduled for March 23rd.
However, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to maintain an entry quota of no more than 3 thousand people a day. Passengers will have to be tested for a new type of coronavirus at the airport.
Israel introduced a ban on incoming and outgoing flights on January 24, 2021. The restrictions were later eased and some flights from London, Frankfurt, Paris, Kiev and New York were allowed.
The resumption of flights comes about a week before Israel's unprecedented fourth election in two years, following three rounds of unsuccessful elections.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been battling several rivals for re-election despite criminal corruption charges.
