The EU new passenger car market started the year off to a low start
According to ACEA, in January 2026, the market for new passenger cars in the EU decreased by almost 4% year–on-year, to 799.6 thousand units, Ukravtoprom reports.
Registrations of hybrid electric vehicles covered 38.6% of the market, remaining the favorite choice of consumers in the EU.
The share of electric vehicles in the EU market was 19.3%, compared to 14.9% a year earlier.
