BYD surpassed the milestone of 100,000 vehicles sold in the UK in just over three years after entering the market in March 2023 with the Atto 3 model, BYD UK reports. Since then, the manufacturer's range of new energy vehicles has expanded from one model to 10, covering fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

More than a third of these registrations - 37,995 vehicles - occurred in the first half of 2026 alone, when BYD's UK retail network expanded from five to 143 locations. Among the newly added models are the Dolphin Surf compact hatchback, the Sealion 7 530PS SUV, and the increasingly wide range of DM-i plug-in hybrids led by Seal U.

Bono Ge, BYD's UK Regional manager, noted that this milestone reflects the trust the company has gained from 100,000 owners and their families, and highlighted the continued investment in the dealer network. He said that BYD plans to expand further with the Dolphin G, Shark and Ti 7 models, as well as Denza-branded vehicles, in particular the Z, D9, Bao 5 and Z9 GT.
