Bulgaria began unloading the first tanker with American liquefied gas
Bulgaria received the first tanker with American liquefied natural gas (LNG), which is now being unloaded at one of the special terminals in Turkey. This is reported by the Bulgarian TV channel Nova with reference to the Ministry of Energy of the country.
The tanker is expected to take about 18 hours to unload. Bulgaria has concluded a temporary agreement with Turkey to receive the American LNG.
American tankers with LNG were supposed to arrive in Bulgaria on June 8 and 23, but the first tanker arrived earlier.
Recall that the purchase of LNG by Bulgaria from the United States became known at the end of May after Russia stopped gas supplies to Bulgaria due to the refusal to pay in rubles.
According to Bulgargaz managers, the price of American LNG for Bulgaria under a long-term contract is significantly lower than the cost of pipeline gas from Russia.
