Skoda plans to suspend production in the Czech Republic due to a shortage of chips
The car company Skoda from October 18 until the end of 2021 intends to “significantly reduce” or completely suspend production at its plants in the Czech Republic, Tomasz Kotera, a representative of the company’s management, announced. He explained that the reason was the lack of electronic components for assembling machines.
Mr. Kotera told reporters that in the next two and a half months, the factories will complete the assembly of about 50,000 cars left in warehouses. “The global crisis of the lack of electronic components has not bypassed Skoda,” he added.
