The court declared Liberty Liege bankrupt

The Belgian steel company Liberty Liège, a subsidiary of Romanian Liberty Galati, was officially declared bankrupt by the commercial court of Liege due to the inability to raise the necessary funds to maintain its assets during the closed bankruptcy procedure, according to local media reports.

In the coming days, 520-550 employees who have not received a salary for several months will be laid off and will have access to unemployment benefits.

The new administrators appointed a few days ago will try to find a potential buyer for the company, which has been closed for two years.
