Longs suppliers in Romania maintain stable supply, although local demand remains limited.
After the elections held last weekend, which led to a stable level of the currency exchange rate, Romanian spot traders of long products decided to keep prices unchanged from week to week.
However, regarding trading activity, players said that local demand did not show any improvement this week and remained stable, albeit at a limited level.
On the other hand, the only Romanian manufacturer of fittings that currently does not produce fittings has no new offers, so previous offers continue to arrive, but according to sources, there is little interest in the sole manufacturer due to the lack of necessary materials.
Currently, most traders keep prices for rebar unchanged week after week at 595-610 euros per ton from the warehouse, while offers for wire rod remain stable at 580-595 euros per ton from the warehouse. Meanwhile, as mentioned earlier, the only Romanian rebar manufacturer has not made any new offers, and the market continues to receive earlier offers at a price of approximately 590-605 euros per ton, stable from week to week.
In addition, several import offers were received this week, although interest from Romanian traders remained minimal. According to sources, the supply of rebar from Bulgaria remains stable at the level of 610-630 euros per ton, excluding VAT. Similarly, Egypt also kept prices for rebar and wire rod unchanged at 510-520 euros per ton without VAT and 535-545 euros per ton without VAT, respectively. Greece, on the other hand, offered rebar and wire rod at a price of 605 euros per ton and 595 euros per ton, respectively. Meanwhile, the average price of rebar in Turkey also remains stable week after week and is 515-530 euros per ton in Romania, with an exchange rate of 1 euro = 1.13 dollars and freight of about 25-30 euros per ton.
