Italian Marcegaglia Group has acquired the 2000th crane manufactured by German Liebherr

The official delivery ceremony of the mobile port crane (MHC) took place yesterday, July 8, at the plant of the Italian steel manufacturer Marcegaglia in Ravenna, as reported in the official press release of the company. This is the fifth MHC company that carries out loading and unloading of coils at the pier.

The LHM 600 crane was built by the Liebherr group, a major German manufacturer of heavy machinery and equipment, as well as the first inventor of the mobile crane in the 40s of the last century. Liebherr and Marcegaglia have been cooperating for a long time, and the German company took the opportunity to celebrate the installation of its 2000th manufactured crane, which coincided with the delivery to the Marcegaglia plant in Ravenna.

"One of the strengths of our group is the high efficiency of logistics, also due to our significant presence in the port of Ravenna. Since 2001, we have also included the Liebherr family and the Liebherr Group in our extensive network of strategic suppliers, with whom we have developed strong relationships of reliability, loyalty, shared goals and values," said Antonio Marcegaglia, President and CEO of Marcegaglia Steel.

His Patricia Ruef, a representative of the third generation of the Liebherr family and a member of the Board of directors of Liebherr-International AG holding, also shared her words: "I wanted to be here in Ravenna to highlight the strong partnership we have with Marcegaglia, a family-owned company like ours, with which we have been successfully cooperating for over twenty years."

The Italian Marcegaglia group is a global leader in the field of steel processing, and its production is focused, in particular, on the production of pipes, coils and rolled products. Marcegaglia annually produces about 6.5 million tons of finished products and employs about 7,800 people.
