European Steel CRC, HDG prices fall due to seasonal downturn

Downstream steel prices fell further into Europe during the week on Wednesday, July 16, with slow demand during the holiday period not yet affecting the market, Fastmarkets sources said.

However, sources also stated that prices may have reached their lowest level this week.

Northern Europe

Domestic prices for cold-rolled coils in Northern Europe fell in the week to Wednesday, according to market sources.

Sources estimate an acceptable level of €630-655 ($732-761) per ton of Ex-work this week, compared with €650-660 per ton of Ex-work for the previous period.

Fastmarkets for a roll of cold-rolled, domestic, Northern European pickup Euro 630-655 per ton on Wednesday, down from 650-660 euros per ton last week.

Meanwhile, on a week-to-week basis, CPR imports were stable.

Therefore, Fastmarkets' weekly price estimate for hot-dipped galvanized coil steel, domestic, Northern Europe pickup Euro 645-670 per ton on Wednesday, expanding downward from €660-670 per ton in the previous week.

Meanwhile, the week-to-week imports of hot-dip galvanized were stable.

Southern Europe

Domestic CPR prices in Southern Europe also fell in the week to Wednesday, according to market sources.

Sources estimated the effective level at €620-630 per ton of Ex-work this week, compared with €630-650 per ton of Ex-work in the previous period.

As a result, Fastmarkets once a week estimated the cost per roll of cold-rolled, home-made, EXW conditions in southern Europe at € 620-630 per tonne on Wednesday, down from €630-650 per tonne the previous week.

Regarding CRC imports, sources estimated the effective level at €600-610 per ton CFR this week through Wednesday, compared with €590-620 per ton CFR last week.

However, offers have also been heard hovering around €590-610 per tonne CFR this week.

Therefore, Fastmarkets once a week, the cost of evaluation per cold-rolled roll, import, CFR shipments to the main port of Southern Europe are also €590-610 per ton on Wednesday, narrowed down from €590-620 per ton in the previous period.
