German EMW and SSAB enter into partnership in the field of non-fossil fuel steel production

SSAB and German steel service center EMW have entered into a long-term partnership for the future supply of non-fossil fuel steel, Kallanish reports.

EMW, located in Neunkirchen, in the Siegerland of North Rhine-Westphalia, is part of the Schäfer Werke group and is considered one of the largest steel production service centers in Europe.

Among the company's specializations is a wide range of high-quality automobile brands, high-strength steels, brands for enameling and organization of transport logistics.

It says the new partnership will help further reduce the carbon dioxide emissions produced by its products, as low-CO2 steel already plays a central role in EMW's business strategy.

"We are pleased to support EMW's sustainability goals in the automotive industry by delivering significant CO2 emissions reductions that are needed by both manufacturers and consumers. It is required," says Klaus Dore, Regional Sales Manager for SSAB vehicles in Europe.

The agreement marks a new step in the long-standing partnership between EMW and SSAB, the German company notes. It includes a number of activities aimed at solving numerous aspects of the development chain, from sales to production, testing and customer service improvement.
