TSR has signed a long-term contract for the supply of scrap metal with voestalpine
TSR Group has entered into a long-term supply agreement with voestalpine, according to Kallanish, Germany's largest steel scrap dealer.
The deal concerns the supply of various grades of steel scrap from subsidiaries of TSR, Johann Neumüller GmbH in Linz, Austria and ALFA Rohstoffhandel München GmbH in Munich, Germany. The proximity of these subsidiaries to voestalpine's production sites in Linz and Donavitz will reduce vehicle mileage and ensure the reliability and efficiency of logistics, TSR notes.
The aim of the cooperation is to provide voestalpine with reliable and long-term supplies of processed raw materials, which will allow it to use its resources efficiently. the basics necessary for the implementation of the "green transition" strategy.
The initial plans are to supply these materials until 2034. Starting in 2027, refining volumes will increase to help meet the growing demand that will arise as a result of voestalpine's technological changes, TSR reports.
"This change in technology will mean that we will need large volumes of scrap, and therefore the key factor here will be the availability of sufficient scrap stocks. Thanks to our collaboration with TSR Group, we now have an experienced partner who understands our requirements," says Hubert Zaicek, head of voestalpine's steel division.
