Polish seamless pipe factory has found a buyer

Boryszew has signed a letter of intent with an unnamed foreign investor to sell its Rurexpol seamless pipe manufacturing subsidiary located in Czestochowa, which has been in liquidation since November last year.

The potential buyer will now conduct a comprehensive audit on the Polish industrial holding Boryszew notes that the final contract for the sale is expected to be signed by October 15.

Rurexpol has decided to eliminate its production capacity of 70,000 tons per year due to its inability to compete in the market due to outdated technologies and the deteriorating state of the European steel industry situation (see Callanish passim). This happened after another pipe manufacturing company, Walcownia Rur Andrzej (WRA), was liquidated earlier this year for the same reasons.

Dutch consulting company KRUDO Industrial B.

V. It was designated for the sale of both divisions.

In March, Huta Czestochowa signed a contract with a letter of intent defining the framework for cooperation with Rurexpol, following the decision of the Polish Ministry of Defense to exercise its right to acquire Huta Czestochowa.

In the profit and loss statement for the first half of 2025 published last week, Boryszew reported that the profitability of the metallurgical segment has significantly decreased. Steel companies were most affected by lower prices for steel products on the European market, lower profitability of sales and reduced scale of operations due to the liquidation of pipe production plants.
