Romania expects stable prices, import negotiations with Turkey are ongoing

Given the still low demand and the continued impact of the holiday period, Romanian long products traders and the only domestic rebar manufacturer decided to keep the supply unchanged from last week. Although demand remains low, market participants report some gradual improvement in the situation and expect a stronger recovery in the coming days. As a result, some rebar dealers have attempted to test higher levels, although these efforts have not generated significant interest, according to reports.

In the domestic market, the offers of the only manufacturer of fittings from the factory still amount to 585-590 euros per ton, while retail prices throughout Romania are stable and amount to 580-595 euros per ton from the warehouse. However, as noted above, some traders have tried to increase the supply to 600-605 euros per ton from the warehouse, but with limited success.

A similar stability is observed in the wire rod market. Despite the sluggish demand, the supply remained unchanged at 575-585 euros per ton from the warehouse, as in the previous week.

Meanwhile, in the import market, although no new deals have been reported, Romanian buyers are still interested in buying and negotiating, especially with Turkish suppliers. mills. These negotiations are expected to conclude with some deals in the coming weeks. The current offers from Turkish plants are priced at $530-545 per tonne FOB, which at an exchange rate of €1 = $1.17 corresponds to 470-485 euros per tonne CFR for delivery to Romania, compared with 475-490 euros per tonne CFR in the previous week. Egypt, a supplier from non-EU countries, decided to maintain stable offers for October shipments at the price of rebar 485-490 euros per ton CFR and wire rod 495-500 euros per ton CFR. Meanwhile, suppliers from the EU, such as Bulgaria, slightly reduced their supply offers in September-October to 590-600 euros per ton from 595-605 euros per ton. In addition, Moldova continues to offer rebar at a price of 590-600 euros per ton without VAT, unchanged from last week.
