Italy does not want the nationalization of the steel plant in Taranto

Nationalisation of troubled steel plant in Taranto will create problems with the European Commission and the government should work on a "market solution" if ArcelorMittal withdraws from the contract for the procurement of ILVA, said the Deputy Minister of economy of Italy Antonio Misiani on Tuesday.

"Nationalization will create problems with the European Commission ... we must seek a market solution," said Misiani in a radio interview with RAI.

Recall that the largest steelmaking company of world ArcelorMittal said last week that backing out of a deal, closed in 2018, for acquisition of a metallurgical plant in the government of Italy in the southern city of Taranto, as the company was deprived of legal immunity for environmental crimes committed by the former owners of the enterprise.
