European CRC and HDG prices have increased slightly, the market is still slowing down after the holidays
European CRC and HDG prices have increased slightly since the end of December, with factories in both Northern Europe and Italy still expecting higher supply levels in February. Import trade has almost come to a standstill as most buyers prefer to avoid new orders due to CBAM regulations.
In particular, in the domestic CRC market, most factories in Italy and Northern Europe are still focused on the price of 730-750 euros per ton, as before the holidays. Meanwhile, the prices available for sale are estimated at 720-730 euros per ton in both Italy and Northern Europe, which means that prices have increased by about 10 euros per ton in the last two weeks.
At the same time, market participants expect factories to raise prices in the near future, which is likely to increase supply by about 10-20 euros per ton in the next sales cycle. The expected increase is due to reduced shipments, as CRC availability is heavily dependent on imports, but more than half of imports are currently subject to anti-dumping investigations that affect materials from India, Japan, Taiwan, Turkey, and Vietnam.
In the import segment, CRC offers amounted to 620-660 euros per ton CFR, depending on the supplier, compared with 600-620 euros per ton CFR at the end of December. The offers for CRCs shipped outside Indonesia amounted to about $750 per ton of CFR, which corresponds to about 640 euros per ton of CFR, which is 20 euros more than at the end of December. In addition, CRC proposals from Thailand were announced at a price of 660 euros per ton of CFR in Southern Europe. In addition, more offers have been received from DDP-based traders, with estimated prices this week of 700-730 euros per ton of DDP.
In the HDG segment, prices in the domestic market in both Italy and northern Europe were set at 730-735 euros per tonne from the factory, compared with 710-735 euros per tonne from the factory two weeks ago, while factories were guided by HDG offers for delivery in January at a price starting from 750 euros/mt ex-works.
Trade remains limited in the import segment, with offers for the ex— Asia HDG Z100-120 priced at 730-740 euros per ton CFR, depending on the supplier, compared to 700-730 euros per ton CFR two weeks ago. Proposals were announced for a 0.55mm Z100 HDG produced in Vietnam at a price of 740 euros per ton CFR
