Salzgitter appoints new Chairman of the Supervisory Board

Callanish learns that the supervisory board of Salzgitter AG has elected Ulrika Brosi as its new chairman. Her term of office takes effect immediately. She is the first woman to serve as Chairman.

Brosi is the Executive director of DZ Bank, the central institution for about 700 cooperative banks and their approximately 7,200 branches.

Since 2013, she has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Salzgitter. According to Gerald Heer, Finance Minister of Lower Saxony, she has played a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the steel company over the past few years.

"She is well acquainted with the processes, structures and strategic direction of the group, and therefore is an excellent choice as chairman of the supervisory board," public broadcaster NDR quoted Hire as saying. Heer is a member of the Supervisory Board of Salzgitter, in which he represents the main shareholder, the state of Lower Saxony.

The former chairman Heinz—Gerhard Wente resigned in October 2025. Hans —Juergen Urban has temporarily assumed the post of Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
