EU Human Rights Commission tightens requirements for Turkey, Vietnam

The use of the EU's tariff quota for hot rolled sheet (TRQ) in the second quarter shows that Turkey and Vietnam will reduce their quotas by April 22, after India's quotas were previously exhausted and exceeded, Kallanish notes.

In physical terms, Turkey has seen the largest reduction in quotas among countries of origin, with only 24% remaining available, while Vietnam is the most limited of the "other countries", with only 2% of quotas available.

As of April 22, Turkiye had 96,662 tons remaining out of the planned 398,355 tons. The quota for a specific country in India has been completely exhausted, there are no remaining balances or available volume. Vietnam has only 2,466 tons left in stock.

Among other major suppliers, South Korea retains significant availability: 134,726 tons, or 84%, are still available. In the UK and Serbia, 94% and 90% of quotas are still available, respectively.

The distribution in the "other countries" category was mixed. In addition to Vietnam, Algeria also showed a noticeable load, where 38% remained, while 67% was available in Egypt and 64% in Taiwan. Japan remains open at 93%, while Switzerland, the United States, Libya and Canada are virtually unaffected.
