The volume of metal industry production in France increased by 0.3% in March 2026 compared to February

France's industrial output fell 0.3 percent month-on-month in March this year after rising one percent in February this year, according to statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Research (INSEE).

In January-March, industrial production in France increased by 0.9 percent year-on-year and decreased by 0.9 percent quarter-on-quarter.

In March, the production of base metals and finished metal products in France, excluding machinery and equipment, increased 0.3 percent month-on-month after remaining unchanged in the previous month.

On the other hand, in March, the production of cars, trailers and semi-trailers in France increased by one percent month-on-month after a decrease of 1.2 percent month-on-month compared to the previous month, while the volume of production in the domestic construction industry decreased by 0.2 percent month-on-month in the given month after a decrease of 1.3 percent in February compared to January.

In January-March, the volume of production in the domestic construction industry decreased by 1.3 percent compared to the previous quarter.
