Green Cargo will manage the transportation of raw materials and steel for the Stegra steel mill in Boden.

Swedish environmentally friendly steel manufacturer Stegra has announced a new logistics partnership with the state-owned railway freight operator Green Cargo to support the transportation needs of its future steel mill in Boden.

According to the agreement, Green Cargo will manage the transportation of both incoming raw materials and finished metal products, becoming a central component of the future Stegra logistics network.

Railway network to connect Boden factory with Swedish ports key

Stegra has already secured arrangements with the ports of Lulea, Umea and Shellefteau, which will serve as the main gateways for the import of raw materials and the export of steel. Green Cargo will provide a rail link between these ports and the Boden steel mill, creating an integrated transport chain linking maritime and railway infrastructure.

According to Stegra, the involvement of an experienced freight rail operator will help optimize logistics flows and increase the reliability of the supply chain after the start of commercial production.
