The use of EU quotas exceeds 85% for several steel categories
In the EU quotas period between April 1 and June 30, some import quotas for certain steel products allocated to Vietnam, Turkey, South Korea, India, Taiwan and China were exhausted, while more than 85 percent of quotas for some steel products were used.
Looking at the depleted quotas, Vietnam used all its quotas of 111,491 Mt for the HRC (1A) allocated under the heading "other countries". Turkey has exhausted its quotas of 43,511 million tons for welded pipes (highlighted in the "other countries" section), 15,732 million tons for organic coated sheets, 94,493 million tons for fittings and 38,124 million tons for other welded pipes.
