The German organization for the production of metal structures has appointed a new president
The German Association of Metal Structures Deutscher Stahlbau-Verband (DSTV) has elected Jan Birkemeyer as its new president at the last meeting of its members, Kallanish reports.
Birkemeyer is a member of the board of Goldbeck Nord, a construction company with several branches located mainly in North Rhine-Westphalia and northern Germany. He will replace Christian Wurst, who has held this position for five years, and will remain as Vice President.
According to DSTV, Birkemeyer will focus his work on modular and serial designs, which, in his opinion, are one of the solutions to the modernization problems in Germany.
He will also seek to speed up the procedures for holding tenders and obtaining permits from government agencies, as well as the inclusion of environmentally friendly steel in government tenders.
