The export of hot rolled coils (HRC) from Turkey in May 2026 decreased both compared to the previous month and in annual terms.

According to data compiled by SteelRadar based on statistics from the Turkish Institute of Statistics (TurkStat), HRC exports from Turkey decreased by 5.19% in May compared to the same period last year, from 293,060 metric tons to 277,839 metric tons. At the same time, shipments increased by 26.3% compared to April: from 219,991 metric tons to 277,839 metric tons.

From January to May, the total volume of HRC exports from Turkey decreased by 15.42% year—on-year, from 1,298,732 metric tons to 1,098,478 metric tons.

Italy became the largest destination of Turkish HRC exports in the first five months of this year, receiving 266,260 metric tons. This is followed by Spain with 130,373 metric tons, Iraq with 74,941 metric tons, Bulgaria with 64,715 metric tons and the United Kingdom with 53,538 metric tons. At the same time, the most noticeable increase in exports from January to May was recorded to the UK (823.41%), Iraq (391.86%), Bulgaria (270.65%) and Northern Macedonia (134.41%). At the same time, shipments to Portugal (66.88%), Egypt (46.70%), Spain (46.67%) and Italy (24.55%) decreased.
