In August, German crude steel production increased by 1.7% year-on-year to reach 2.59 million tons. Such data was published by the German Steel Manufacturers' Federation WV Stahl.
From January to August 2026, the country's crude steel output increased by 6.3% compared to the same period last year, to 23.9 million tons.
The production of pig iron in Germany in August amounted to 1.65 million tons, which is 5.5% less than a year earlier. At the same time, the figure increased by 5.7% in eight months and reached 14.94 million tons.
The output of hot-rolled steel in August increased by 4.1% year-on-year and amounted to 2.36 million tons. In January–August, the production of these products increased by 4.2% and reached 21 million tons.
