ArcelorMittal has partially suspended production at its strip plant in Eisenhuttenstadt, Germany.
According to the company, the decision was made after failures recorded in the operation of the blast furnace. The company's specialists are currently working to stabilize the process and resume production as soon as possible.
The Eisenhuttenstadt plant produces about 2.5 million tons of steel per year.
The situation at the company coincided with reports of production cuts at large steel plants in Western Europe. This is due to both scheduled repairs and non-routine circumstances.
