Airbus begins supplying A350 aircraft through its hub in China

Airbus solemnly handed over the first A350 to the customer through its Widebody Finishing and Delivery Center in Tianjin, North China. Xinhua reported.

An A350 aircraft was handed over to China Eastern Airlines from the Airbus center in Tianjin today. This is the first time that a European aircraft manufacturer has launched a similar project for an A350 outside of Europe.

“Airbus views China as a long-term strategic market. We are fully confident in the resilience and dynamism of China's economy and its aviation industry, ”said George Xu, Airbus Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Airbus China.

“This new step demonstrates our commitment to deepen our mutually beneficial partnership with China and improve service to local customers through more localized solutions and resources,” he added.

Airbus plans to deliver a total of five wide-body A350 aircraft through the Tianjin hub in 2021.

The A350 is a new generation of Airbus wide-body aircraft, featuring environmental performance, range and comfort. To date, the company has received 915 orders for this model and has delivered about 430 aircraft worldwide. About 10% of orders and deliveries came from the Chinese market.

Located next to the final assembly line for the Airbus A320 family in Tianjin, the Airbus Widebody Finishing and Delivery Center provides interior outfitting and painting services.
