UK's largest tobacco firm switches from nicotine to cannabis - BBC
Jack Bowles, head of the tobacco giant, told to the BBC that CBD vaping was “part of the future,” but the challenge was “getting people to switch” to healthier products.
The tobacco giant is launching a pilot version of a new CBD vape product in Manchester.
More than a third of British American Tobacco's UK revenue now comes from vaping, Balls said.
After publishing its semi-annual results to the end of June, the company reported 8.1% revenue growth to £ 12.18 billion.
In March, the tobacco giant acquired a 20% stake in Canadian medical cannabis producer Organigram and signed a deal to research a new range of adult cannabis products.
“When we think about our portfolio for the future, definitely, in addition to nicotine products, they are of interest to us as another wave of future growth,” said Mr. Bowles.
