Jindal Shadeed Group plans to spend over $3 billion to build a new steel plant in Oman. The proposed green steel plant to be built in the "Special Economic Zone" in Dukma is expected to produce five million metric tons of green steel per year.
The facility will supply steel for wind turbines, automobiles and appliance manufacturers in Europe, Japan and other countries.
According to Harsh Shetty, CEO of Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel, the demand for green steel from customers around the world, especially in Europe and Asia, is constantly growing.
The new plant in Oman will use renewable energy sources for its production operations.
