The EU has increased quotas for Turkish metal products
The EU has allocated additional volumes for imports of Turkish origin in the fourth quarter, carried over from the previous tariff quota (TRQ) period, as noted by the EU customs portal.
Volumes transferred from the previous quota period include 39,848 tons commercial long products, 18,257 tons of hot-rolled coils, 7,843 tons of other welded pipes, 7,480 tons of wire, 1,853 tons of cold-rolled stainless steel sheet and strip and 1 ton of rebar.
As a result, other welded pipe now accounts for 57% or 27,996 tons of available fourth quarter sales quota, compared to total availability only 1% at the end of October.
Organic coated sheets, hollow profiles and large welded pipes have either reached their quotas or are very close to TRQ limits.
Only 6052 tons of wire rod remained, or 5% of the established quota.
