The Supervisory Board of Ukrzaliznytsia announced a competition
According to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers, the competitive selection of four independent members of the Supervisory Board of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC has begun.
According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine reports about this on Facebook.
It is noted that this is another step in the consistent implementation of transparent corporate governance principles in strategically important state-owned companies.
According to Oleksiy Balesta, Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development, Ukrzaliznytsia is a strategically important company that provides the bulk of cargo and passenger transportation within the country, performing a critical logistical function both in peacetime and in wartime.
"I am confident that we will attract professional and virtuous members of the Supervisory Board who will provide strategic leadership, effective control over management decisions and compliance with the best standards of corporate governance in Ukrzaliznytsia," notes Balesta.
The ministry explained that independent members of the supervisory board are responsible for approving the company's Development Strategy, overseeing its implementation, evaluating the activities of senior management, monitoring compliance with transparency standards, risk management and the implementation of international management practices.
