Interpipe produced pipes for offshore work for the first time

For the first time, the Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe manufactured pipes for offshore work and supplied them to a client in Turkey.

According to the company's press service, the Turkish client uses these products in the South Akçakoca Sub–Basin (SASB) gas fields project, which are located directly in the Black Sea. The field consists of several gas deposits in shallow water, so Interpipe pipes are laid underwater.

For such conditions, Interpipe has manufactured for the client pumping and compressor pipes with a premium UPJ–M connection, which provides high gas tightness and is the company's own design.

"Turkey is currently actively developing offshore gas fields in the Black Sea. However, the mining conditions are specific–it is carried out in shallow water, so increased gas tightness is required, which can be provided by premium connections. Although this is Interpipe's first experience using tubing underwater, the customer's experience is positive. The products are already in use, and the pipe descents were successful. This is an incentive to participate in similar projects in the future," said Artem Artemov, Director of Pipe Sales at Interpipe in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
