Steel reloading: ArcelorMittal centralizes long products processing
ArcelorMittal Spain builds new Steel Service Center (SSC)for long products, which will take over the work of two existing plants, according to Metal Expert.
Work on the new center began in March 2024 at the ArcelorMittal site in Villaverde.
The new SSC will combine the services currently offered at Getafe and Coslada centers in one location, with the aim of increasing both industrial and logistical efficiency, as well as improving customer service.
It is noted that the facility will be equipped with four saws for cutting long products, an oxygen fuel cutting table, as well as a new shot blasting and painting plant.
The center is expected to be put into operation in the first quarter of 2026. Its total area will be 26,300 m2.
