In January-May, Ukraine exported almost $50 million worth of scrap metal.
In January-May of this year, Ukrainian enterprises increased exports of ferrous scrap by 45.5% compared to the same period last year, to 155,809 thousand tons from 102,366 thousand tons.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service (GMS) on Friday, 28.6 thousand tons were exported in May, 46,321 thousand tons in April, 39,908 thousand tons in March, 25,284 thousand tons in February, and 15,696 thousand tons of scrap in January.
In monetary terms, scrap metal exports in January-May increased by 46.4% to $48.127 million from $32.872 million.
