China extends anti-dumping duties on stainless steel imports

Starting from July 1, China extended the anti-dumping customs tariffs on a number of stainless steel products imported from certain countries and regions for another five years.

This was announced by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, writes SilkBridge.

The continuation includes blanks and hot-rolled stainless steel sheets and rolls imported from the European Union, Great Britain, South Korea and Indonesia. The duty rates will remain in the range from 20.2% to 103.1%.

"The damage to the domestic industry is likely to continue if the anti–dumping measures are lifted," the ministry said in a statement.

Stainless steel blanks are used to produce finished products, while hot-rolled sheets are used in fields such as shipbuilding, container manufacturing, railway industry, and energy.
