The Kametstal plant expanded its product range for the Ukrainian and European markets in 2025

In 2025, the Kametstal plant of the Metinvest Mining and Metallurgical Group (Kamenskoye, Dnipropetrovsk region) took into account the demands of the Ukrainian and European markets, expanding the line of continuously cast blanks by four positions and the range of demanded long products by three.

According to the company's information, in 2025, Kametstal once again confirmed its leadership position among Metinvest's metallurgical enterprises in terms of the number of new products developed. Of the 11 new types of metal products put on the market, seven are the merit of the Kametstal team.

At the same time, it is specified that the steelmakers of the converter shop have achieved four new steel grades: 10u1, 20u, 26g2tr and S355NL–1N with enhanced requirements for chemical composition, primarily in terms of sulfur and phosphorus content.

Casting of new grades of steel into a continuous-cast billet with a cross section of 335x400 mm has been mastered at Caster No. 2, which completed the reconstruction of electrical equipment last year. This, in particular, helped to stabilize the spill rate and, consequently, increase the accuracy of cutting workpieces by minimizing metal waste. The purpose of the new semi-finished products is the manufacture of round rolled products and its subsequent processing into seamless pipes for responsible use.

The rolling mill team offered Ukrainian and European consumers three new products that had not previously been produced at the mill. First of all, these are fittings with a diameter of 8-32 mm for the Polish and Romanian markets, the production of which has been mastered at 400/200 condition. Thanks to the certification according to the building codes of these countries, during 2025, Metinvest has already shipped, in particular, more than 100 thousand tons of B500SP class rebar products to Poland.

The production of molar layers with a diameter of 100 mm with high surface and volume hardness, which corresponds to the fifth group, has been mastered in the ball-rolled state. Having experimentally determined the optimal heat treatment regime after rolling, the specialists achieved stable production of products with increased wear resistance, necessary for stable and efficient operation of the company's mining and processing plants.
