Austrian voestalpine increases profits and prepares new acquisitions
The Austrian voestalpine AG Group continues its international expansion, focusing on growth in India and subsequent acquisitions in promising steel processing segments. The company implements a strategy of diversification, combining the reorganization of less profitable areas with expansion in regions with higher demand. This is stated in the report.
During the first three quarters of fiscal year 2025/2026, revenue decreased slightly to €11.1 billion. Operating results improved, with EBITDA rising to €1 billion and EBIT to €473 million. Profit before taxes increased by 46.5% YoY, to €372 million, which indicates the effectiveness of structural changes.
The company is completing the reorganization of its divisions, in particular automotive components in Germany, and is concentrating High Performance Metals on technologically complex materials.
At the same time, voestalpine is developing growth projects in the areas of railway infrastructure, warehouse systems and aviation, especially in India, one of the main markets for future demand.
The Group continues to transform its steel production under the greentec steel program with a budget of approximately €1.5 billion, which should be the third strategic focus along with portfolio optimization and international expansion.
CEO Herbert Eibensteiner noted that the company is rapidly adapting to the market and implementing growth initiatives, which is already reflected in increased profitability and strong cash flow.
Voestalpine expects EBITDA of €1.4–1.55 billion by the end of the 2025/2026 financial year and plans to continue combining asset acquisition with development in new markets.
