Coal production in Shanxi province increased by 8.9% in January-November 2022
In January-November, large coal mining enterprises in prov. Shanxi produced almost 1.2 billion tons of raw coal, up 8.9% year-over-year, the provincial statistical office said on Tuesday.
In the first 11 months of this year, from Shanxi to other 18% more electricity was transferred to the country's regions than a year earlier.
As one of China's leading energy bases, Shanxi Province is the key to the country's energy security.
The province planned to increase coal production by 107 million tons to 1.3 billion tons in 2022. Local governments are coordinating production, transportation, and response to the COVID-19 epidemic to meet the production target.
Last year, more than 1.19 billion tons of coal was mined in the province, accounting for almost a third of total production in the country.
